What was the highlight of db San Antonio Hotel

Comfortable and relaxing.

I liked that the pool was quiet 1.00 to 3.00 pm. So a visit there was very relaxing. Also kosy bar was open during the day so we could have a drink in a non-crowded quiet room with a view.

Certain days I found it very difficult to find options to eat as garlic was in almost every option offered at the buffet. Especially during the maltese night but not only.

Food very disappointing

The Hotel is well located for the main bus terminal. The staff were lovely. The hotel is pristine clean.

The location in regard to where the hotel is on the island. There are much nicer towns n cities to stay in. I didn’t like that you have to book all inclusive. The food was dreadful. All commercially produced. This I can understand as it caters for a huge volume of people but it’s not for people who like good food n wine. We left the hotel two nights out of our 5 night stay and went to a local restaurant.

The weather was shocking, the balcony rubbish but the food was lovely, and Malta is beautiful.

Food was great and so were the restaurant staff. Gym was good, indoor pool was too small for the number of guests tho. Outside pools and area were well kept and a lovely view of the sea.

Our room was terrible. The balcony had the air vents from the indoor pool, it go no sun as we were on the bottom floor and there was no view as it looked over the roof of the gym. I think they'd put us in staff quarters.

great stay ,

the entertainment, and the staff and the food.

the service in the Italian a la carte, it was appalling , it took us x2 hours to get x2 courses and it was meant to be a x4 course . we left ! it wasn’t good. also room 126 was tight for a family of x4 the shower was tiny and the beds way too small for a big 16 year old.

Was a goood value for money and I’d say if you an adult use the upstairs pool and bar facilities as it’s a lot more clea

The hotel rooms reception and restaurants was exceptional, food was very good!

The out side pool bar on the main floor, the staff didn’t seem to clean the bar area frequent enough, meaning a lot of flies accumulated landing on the pourers. The staff who maned the pool bar also didn’t have fresh t shirts on, what looked like cigarette burns could been seen all over some of the staffs uniforms. There was no water cooler on the third floor and when asked could we get some water to the room we got told we had to come downstairs to fetch it ourselves.

I expected more

The infinity pool is really beautiful and good that it is adult only.

The hotel is really crowded and the free sunbeds at the pools are limited. There are no individual parasols at the pools so you have to compete in the morning with other guests to get a good place which makes it kinda frustrating. The food is also OK but sometimes low quality. We have also seen a cockroach.

Very good staff who worked very hard. I would stay there again for sure.

The food for the most part was very good. The Chinese restaurant was a bit disappointed.

The air conditioning wasn’t great and they turned it off for long periods of the day and it was 40 degrees.

Wonderful

Can't really fault it. Reasonable price for what you get. Good food, make sure you try some of the restaurants as well as the buffet. Rooftop pool area is lovely with great view for an evening beer. Good location near bars and the bus station.

Exceptional

Comfortable rooms and beds. Food excellent with a good choice. Choice of restaurants (although not all open in the winter). Spotlessly clean. Professional animation team who delivered excellent shows each night. Staff very friendly. Very close to sea with most rooms having a sea view. Very close to the bus station where for a small Fare you can get a buses to various places on the island.

My main gripe about this hotel is that it has ‘time share’ rooms which is fine if that’s your thing but you are constantly being approached near the hotel wherever you walk to take up an offer of free bus ride....to get the free tickets you have to go to a ‘presentation’. We started trying to avoid the reps whenever we went outside.

This is why you love holidays!

Our stay in db San Antonio was absolutely flawless! It was one of the best hotel experience for us in the recent years, I can only praise the team. The building is very modern and elegant, with clean design and nice Moorish ornamentations. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, well equipped with comfortable mattress. The food was really nice every day, their all-inclusive service is simply brilliant. Absolutely recommended. The location of the hotel is also good, easy to reach with public transportation.

Would be amazing in the summer

Hotel was beautiful and very clean Staff spoke good English Beds were comfy and rooms were beautifully decorated Close to the beach and town Entertainment team were fabulous Food was delicious with plenty of choice Lifts were electronically allocated

Half of the facilities were closed for season including the infinity pool, rooftop bar/restaurant Only 1 bar open during the day Hotel was part of a time share, so weekends were a nightmare. Restaurant staff were slow, we still had plates on our table whilst eating dessert, and they favoured the locals first To access the beach via the hotel lifts, you had to walk across the underground carpark. Kids play pool was on a separate roof, with spiral stairs to access a tad unsafe There was no plugs next to a mirror, making it difficult to do your hair (obviously this is aimed for the ladies)

Room nice but beds a bit soft. Good location for bus station. All inclusive deal very good value, food good. The Tagine themed restaurant serves delicious Moroccan / Indian food which is amazing. The other themed restaurant the Bistro not as good. The only down side is the extra events the hotel hosts ..., ie breakfast and bingo for non residents. In essence a good local initiative but if you are queuing for breakfast it’s an invasion to the senses - the amount of people, the noise..... but I suppose it’s a money spinner for the hotel in the low season. This has been our second stay at this hotel, first stay was better in terms of overall service. Reception staff alwAys busy but very helpful. Waiting staff in all restaurants very good. Nice outdoor pool space but area undergoing maintenance, pools empty and workmen in attendance.

As above, the extra events the hotel hosts at the detriment to the residents. Local charity event groups who turn up for breakfast and then play bingo. In excess of 100 people appear and take over the restaurant. No disrespect but we’ve paid for a 4 star all inclusive holiday with fellow residents. Suddenly being invaded by the masses is a bit of a shock. The staff try to keep both elements separate but you need sharp elbows in the breakfast queue. Not to mention the food they stow away in their handbags to take home. Different culture I suppose, but if you know about it in advance you won’t be surprised. Nice people, but so many, suddenly the flood gates open and it’s a free for all. Perhaps the hotel should revisit their strategic planning going forward. Not a show stopper but constructive criticism.

excellent hotel perfext few days away for our honeymoon

fanatastic stay. We were in room 275 - room was lovely - spacious. everything you needed was in there. food was amazing and so much choice with also the chance to book at other restuarants around the hotel tagine indian food was also delicous we were here on our honeymoon for 5 nights and perfect for a relaxing few days - with everything we needed @ the resort. Perfect, Modern Resort.

- The accommodations are modern and very clean. - Nice pools and infinity pool at the top. - Inside pool and training facility was superb too. - Nice location with supermarkets and restaurants in the neighborhood. - Reception is nice and there are ladies working to provide you with information on tours etc. - Great breakfast and no issues with finding a place to eat. - Everything is big at this hotel. A lot of seats at the restaurant and at the pools etc. - Nice rooms, get cleaned every day. I left my personal items in the room and they were never touched. - TV has some international channels like BBC, RAI etc. - WIFI is great! 150mbit speeds. - Showers are nice. Water gets really hot if you want it.

- Variety of food. It's all inclusive so don't expect superb quality dishes. We enjoyed the breakfast though! It's top-notch. Everything else was just average. - Post-mix drinks (Coca-Cola, Fanta etc) were awful with a weird taste. Maybe they are using cheap softdrink powders or the water they mix it in is poor.
